It's so hard to find the words to describe Lolwam. He's still so young, but incredibly well spoken, determined and very clear on what he wants (in a very sweet way).
For example: we went shopping for clothes because I realised he didn't have many winter items in his wardrobe. We went to almost every clothing store in the V&A Waterfront and he veto'd every single clothing item I suggested to him. Why? Because all he wanted was a suit to wear to church. Praise be to H&M Kids for coming in clutch with a suit - once we had secured this, Lolwam was more open to getting essentials like underpants and socks. 😂
Lolwam is so sweet and unbelievably kind - at every Lolla's Light event, he makes sure all the kids are included and having fun.
He looooves his older brother Inam and wants to be just like him. So much so, that when Inam started bouldering with Dream Higher at Bloc 11, Lolwam phoned me and asked if he could go too. He has been doing so well at climbing and actually placed second in his age group at a Western Cape Climbing competition! He was handpicked for a specialised climbing group as well - seems his climbing strategy of 'eyes closed, head first, can't lose' is paying off!
